YOU ARE NOT ALONE
All of us has heard of at-least one incident of a microwave catching fire because of a wrong container. Often containers don’t have a tag mentioning if they are microwave safe or not and this could be a real inconvenience. But if you are betting against the odds and still placing that container in the microwave as a test, we’re sorry to inform you its not a good idea.
Here's a fool-proof way of checking if your container is microwavable.
Fill a microwave-safe cup of water and place it on the container you want to test and heat for two-three seconds. If the water is hot and the container is cold, it is microwavable. But if the container becomes hot, it may not be safe to use it.
